Autocad Tutorial: How to Lock and Unlock the Viewport

Hey hey everybody,

In todays video I go over how to easily insert a title block in to my existing drawing, how to create a new viewport and then how to scale and adjust your viewport to show your drawing.

Then I use the viewport lock option to make sure I wont accidently move or mess up my scale or viewport location and then how to unlock the viewport in order to edit it. Check out the video to see what I mean.

If you have any questions at all, please just ask in the comments below and don’t forget to let me know what you’d like to learn and I’ll be sure to add a video for you.

Cheers and happy drafting,
Brandon

Ps. Don’t forget to check out my custom title block downloads here: Titleblocks.com

What is the unlabeled field in the contact form on your website? I want to ask a question but this unlabeled field seems to be a required field.

I’m a beginner to AutoCAD and am stuck. I have created a “floor plan” layer, but when I unlock my viewport I am still not able to move my objects or click on anything I have created; even though they are all unlocked. Nothing is active as it is in Model space. I also noticed that somehow I have a defpoints layer – is that the problem? Are you able to help? Hope this makes sense. Thanks!
